Philanthropic Profile

Dedicated to giving back to Northeastern PA, Brandon Matthews partnered with the Scranton Area Community Foundation in 2021 to establish the NEPA Invitational Fund. Along with Steve Hudacek and many dedicated volunteers, Matthews created the NEPA Invitational, a two-day Pro-Am event which brought together pro golfers from around the country with some of our region’s best amateurs. The incredibly successful event took place in October at the Country Club of Scranton, and raised $50,000, which generously benefited five local charities, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Children’s Advocacy Center of NEPA, Meals on Wheels of NEPA, Inc., Outreach, and United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. Through the NEPA Invitational Fund, Matthews also established the Lawler Scholarship Fund, named in honor of William Lawler. The Lawler Scholarship benefits deserving junior golfers in our area. Congrats, Matthew!
