Scholarship Funds are presented annually to further education of students in the greater Scranton/Lackawanna Region. Scranton Area Foundation provides scholarships that benefit a variety of students, educational institutions, and fields of study.
Our Current Scholarships
The Scranton Area Foundation manages numerous Scholarship Funds. SAF Scholarship funds cover a diverse selection of studies, schools and recipients.
Whether the scholarship encourages a specific field of study, promotes a particular school or benefits a given type of scholar, each Scholarship is unique and was created to fulfill the philanthropic aspirations of the original donor.

James F. Swift Scholarship Program
The Scranton Area Foundation has established the James F. Swift Scholarship to assist students from Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania high schools, who plan to continue their education in a college or university program. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution, preferably one of the Lackawanna County colleges or universities, of the student’s choice. learn more…
