The mission of the Scranton Area Community Foundation is carried out through numerous initiatives including NEPA Moves, which brings together a council of community leaders focused on solving the transportation challenges across the region; Women in Philanthropy, which empowers and transforms the lives of women and girls throughout the Lackawanna County Region; and the Center for Community Leadership and Nonprofit Excellence, which serves the capacity building needs of the nonprofit community through seminars and training programs facilitated by highly-skilled , nationally-recognized professionals. In addition, we also foundation management service, where we handle the administrative tasks and manage the grantmaking process for other foundations. We also host NEPA Match Day annually in May, which has become the biggest day of giving throughout Lackawanna County history. In September 2019, in partnership with Moses Taylor Foundation, we will host the Inaugural NEPA Learning Conference, which aims to provide nonprofit organizations from across Northeastern Pennsylvania with an opportunity to learn from nationally-recognized presenters and professionals.
