Beginning April 24th, 2024, The Sheldon Family Foundation at the Scranton Area Community Foundation welcomes applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2024 grant cycle.
Dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals across Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna, Sullivan, and Wyoming Counties, the Sheldon Family Foundation invites applications from organizations aligned with its mission.
Grant Application Details
Nonprofits interested in securing funding from the Sheldon Family Foundation have until June 10th, 2024, to submit their applications. Grant amounts will be up to and including $10,000, with decisions on awards planned for announcement in the summer of 2024.
Focus Areas for Funding
The Sheldon Family Foundation is keen on supporting projects falling under various focus areas, including arts, natural resources and conservation, parks and open spaces, animal welfare and protection, libraries and historical societies, and child advocacy. Grant applications must align with one of these categories to be considered for funding.
Application Process
To initiate the grant application process, organizations are encouraged to utilize the online grants portal provided by the Scranton Area Community Foundation. The Sheldon Family Foundation exclusively accepts grant requests through this portal and does not entertain paper or email submissions.
New applicants are required to create an account using their email address and provide essential organizational information, including the EIN/Tax ID number. Following account creation, access to available grants and resources, including a written tutorial, will be provided to facilitate the application process.
Invitation for Submission
Upon the submission of Letters of Intent (LOIs), select organizations will receive invitations to submit full grant applications through the online portal before the deadline.
