Once submitted, LOIs will be reviewed by a committee. If invited to submit a full application, applications will be due Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

The Robert H. Spitz Foundation’s Spring 2025 grant cycle is the first of two planned grant cycles for 2025. The second grant cycle will take place in Fall 2025, and will accept requests in the focus areas of Veterans’ Affairs and Veteran-oriented Programs, Animal Welfare, and Environmental Programs.

(Please note that the Robert H. Spitz Foundation will ONLY accept grant requests through the online portal. No paper or emailed applications will be accepted.)

The Scranton Area Community Foundation is proud to administer the Robert H. Spitz Foundation, which has awarded more than $6 million in funding to support impactful work across the Lackawanna County region and Northeastern Pennsylvania since 2016.

Established through the estate of Scranton native Robert H. Spitz, the Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations focused on breaking the cycle of poverty, increasing access to affordable housing, transportation, and education, and promoting independence for adults and children.

Additional priority areas include support for veterans, animal welfare, and Jewish culture and heritage.

We invite eligible nonprofit organizations to apply for funding to help create meaningful change in our region.
