Sydney’s journey
Sydney is in her third year at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) and recently published her research in the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs. She passed Step 1 and is continuing to learn how best to care for patients in a hospital setting while gaining a better understanding of the principles behind medicine. Sydney has been involved with the Child Advocacy Center, Youth Homeless Shelter, Camp Cranium and Angel Flight East. She has also served as a student representative for the Lackawanna County Medical Society.
Summer 2023
Sydney spent most of the summer at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre rotating through specialties, allowing her to experience the hospital setting and how to care for patients.
Sydney’s future
Sydney is interested in Internal Medicine and serving in a rural community. She believes Internal Medicine aligns with her passion to help people maintain long-term health. Sydney can see herself practicing in northeastern Pennsylvania.
