Established in August 2022, the Alexis Caviston-Ashmar Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Lexi, who passed away from brain cancer in July 2020. A May 2020 cum laude graduate of the Mansfield University nursing program, Lexi requested this scholarship fund be established to help others fulfill their goals of becoming a nurse. The Fund provides two scholarships annually—the Alexis Caviston-Ashmar Memorial Mansfield Nursing Scholarship, which supports educational expenses for a nursing student at the Mansfield Campus of the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing—and the Alexis Caviston-Ashmar Memorial Scranton Knight Rhythms Scholarship to support educational expenses for a graduating senior from Scranton High School.
