The Scranton Area Community Foundation is proud to work with The Greater Scranton MLK Commission through managing the
Greater Scranton Martin Luther King Commission Fund.
The Greater Scranton MLK Commission Fund at the Scranton Area Community Foundation is a donor-advised fund that supports the charitable works and activities of the Greater Scranton MLK Commission. Through the fund, the Greater Scranton MLK Commission seeks to support its mission through projects and programs designed to promote principles of nonviolence, equity, and love through education and service.

The Greater Scranton MLK Commission hosted a live webinar given by psychologist, international speaker and bestselling author Dr. John Amaechi, OBE, on Monday, January 18, 2021. The event was free and open to the public and, in celebration and continuance of the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., aimed to inspire and move our community towards equitable justice. Other events have included “Talking About Racism: A Community Conversation”, a series of conversations focused on understanding and discussing important topics including as racism, privilege, and allyship in our communities. The Fund has been generously supported by many community members and sponsors.
