The Scranton Area Community Foundation is seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist to serve as the welcoming face of our foundation and provide administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Operations:
- Greet and assist visitors, donors, and community partners with a welcoming attitude.
- Answer, screen, and direct phone calls to appropriate staff members in a professional manner.
- Manage the general inbox and respond to or forward emails appropriately.
Administrative Support:
- Provide general clerical support, including filing, data entry, photocopying, and document preparation.
- Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and reflective of the foundation’s values.
- Schedule appointments and assist with meeting room reservations and preparations.
Communication:
- Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries, providing accurate information about the foundation’s programs and services.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
Event Support:
- Assist with logistical and administrative needs for events, meetings, and special projects.
- Support the preparation of materials for board meetings, community workshops, and donor events.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role preferred.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn other software tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive and professional demeanor with a commitment to the foundation’s mission.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $30,000–$35,000, depending on experience.
