WIP Community Documentary Screening: Miss Representation

At the Scranton Area Community Foundation, we believe strong communities are built through connection, participation, and shared purpose.

Through our Women in Philanthropy initiative, we invite you to join us for the third event in our 2026 Community Documentary Series. The evening will feature a screening of the powerful documentary, Miss Representation.

Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media and culture contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film draws back a curtain to reveal a glaring reality we live with every day but fail to see – how the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls make it difficult for women to feel powerful and achieve leadership positions.

Following the screening, we will host a brief panel conversation.
