The James F. Swift Scholarship Fund was created by Mr. Swift through a gift to the Scranton Area Foundation in July 2002 to provide support for higher education of young people in Lackawanna County. Four-year renewable scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors at high schools in Lackawanna County for educational expenses at a college or other accredited educational institution.
