Catholic Foundation Art Auction Raises Over $65,000

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Scranton recently celebrated the success of its inaugural art auction, which raised more than $65,000 to support the Foundation’s Founders Fund.

The auction featured original artwork by local artist Austin Burke depicting churches throughout the Diocese of Scranton and inspired participation from supporters both locally and across the country.

Beyond the fundraising success, the event highlighted the deep personal connections many donors have to their faith communities and the places that have shaped their lives and families over the years. Several winning bidders shared meaningful stories connected to the churches featured in the artwork, and some even chose to donate their paintings back to local parishes and organizations, extending the spirit of generosity even further.

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Scranton is one of several organizations for which the Scranton Area Community Foundation provides foundation management and administrative support services. The Catholic Foundation’s mission is to sustain and nurture the pastoral, educational, and service ministries of the Diocese, its parishes, schools, and organizations through endowments, planned gifts, and charitable support.

The Paramo Foundation to Host 1st Annual Garden Party

Join the Paramo Foundation for its 1st Annual Garden Party on Viernes, Junio 6, 2026, at the Waverly Country Club for an evening celebrating community and opportunity.

Guests will enjoy light fare, seasonal drinks, live jazz, a silent auction and raffle, and a live cigar-rolling experience with master cigar roller Franklin Pichardo.

Proceeds from the event will support scholarships for students with financial need pursuing careers in the skilled trades and industry.

Established by Alberto Paramo in 2024 at the Scranton Area Community Foundation, the Paramo Foundation supports students attending trade schools and other career-training programs. The Paramo Foundation also supports returning veterans, active-duty military members, and students pursuing careers in cosmetology.

The Scranton Area Community Foundation is proud to announce the establishment of the Healthy Family Partnership Fund.

The Healthy Family Partnership Fund was created to support the programs, services, and initiatives of Healthy Family Partnership, a department of Wyoming County Human Services dedicated to strengthening children, families, and communities throughout the region.

Through fundraising efforts, grant writing, and community support, the fund will help advance Healthy Family Partnership’s mission and expand access to resources that promote family well-being, stability, and positive outcomes for those they serve.

Through this fund, supporters can help sustain and grow important programs that foster healthy families, meaningful connections, and stronger communities across Wyoming County.
