Wow! Thank you!
Over half a million dollars raised in 24 hours!
We are thrilled to announce that YOU helped to make HISTORY in Northeastern Pennsylvania on Friday!
On Friday, June 5, 2020, in just 24 hours, 167 nonprofit organizations worked together to boost awareness of the important work nonprofits do in our region, promote the importance of philanthropy, and collectively secure a total of $520,558 in donations for NEPA Gives!
Many checks and offline donations are still coming in, so the total will likely increase in the coming days ahead.
Nearly 2,700 generous donors came together to prove that when NEPA Gives, together we are stronger!
In addition to raising a historical amount in 24 hours across Northeastern Pennsylvania, over 125 prizes and matching incentives were awarded to participating nonprofits for notable achievements, sponsored by generous businesses, foundations, and donors. At the Scranton Area Community Foundation, we are proud of the collective efforts from all of the participating nonprofit organizations, generous sponsors, and incredible donors and supporters that helped make NEPA Gives
The average first-year giving day for a region of our size raises between $100,000 and $150,000.
In this first year of NEPA Gives, our theme was Respond, Thrive, and Recover, which highlighted the important work that charitable organizations are doing during the COVID-19 crisis, and the importance of supporting their critical work. We believe that especially now during these challenging times, it was more important than ever to provide an opportunity for nonprofits to raise much-needed funds to support their efforts, and we are grateful that the generous people in Northeastern Pennsylvania responded.
