New Grant Opportunity!

The MHA Memorial Shelter/Rescue Fund at the Scranton Area Community Foundation is currently seeking applications from nonprofit organizations in support of animal shelters or animal rescue efforts. The MHA Memorial Shelter/Rescue Fund will award a limited number of grants in amounts up to $4,500.  Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 31, 2020.

The MHA Memorial Shelter/Rescue Fund was established in May 2019 in memory of Mary H. Acker to support animal shelters or rescues. Specifically, the purpose of the fund is to support Pennsylvania animal shelters and/or rescues that have a no-kill policy, and which are working to help abused, abandoned, or injured dogs.
Grant applications for the MHA Memorial Shelter/Rescue Fund will be accepted through the online grants portal at the Scranton Area Community Foundation until Friday, July 31, 2020.

To begin the grant application process, create or login to your account by entering the following information:

  • A username that is an email address
  • Your contact information
  • Your organization’s information, including the EIN/Tax ID number (required)
  • Contact information for the organization’s Executive Officer

Please note that grant requests for this opportunity are only accepted through the online portal at the Scranton Area Community Foundation. No paper or emailed applications will be accepted.
