NEPA Health Care Foundation – Addressing Healthcare Workforce Needs

07.09.20

Now, more than ever, supporting our region’s health care workforce is a critical need.

That’s why the NEPA Health Care Foundation launched the Careers in Care initiative in March 2020 in order to prioritize support for the growth and retention of the health care workforce in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

This $1.5 million three-year initiative will provide grant support for 501c3 organizations, health care providers, educational institutions, and collaboratives working on building the general health care workforce pipeline in Northeastern Pennsylvania, particularly Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties, and will work on supporting the nursing workforce from CNA through BSN levels.

In light of the challenging and unprecedented circumstances related to COVID-19, the NEPA Health Care Foundation is providing additional times for interested applicants to submit their Letters of Intent and Grant Applications.

The new deadline for submitting a Letter of Intent is August 1, 2020. If invited to submit a grant application, the new grant application date is October 1, 2020.

Information on the NEPA Health Care Foundation’s Careers in Care initiative, including priority areas, as well as how to apply, can be found at nepahealthcarefoundation.org/careersincare.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties, and particularly those most vulnerable and most underserved of the population.

The Scranton Area Community Foundation serves as the administrator of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation was established in 2011 following the sale of Mercy Hospital in Scranton.
