NEPA Gives—the 24-hour online giving event that brings our region together for one powerful day of generosity—returns Junio 4–5, 2026.
Whether you’re a donor, charitable fundholder, or community member, NEPA Gives is an opportunity to support the causes you care about and be part of something bigger across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
For our fundholders: NEPA Gives offers a unique opportunity to grow your charitable impact. By creating a fundraising page for your fund, friends, family, and colleagues can contribute directly, helping you build additional resources to support the nonprofits you care about during NEPA Gives and throughout the year.
There’s no cost to participate, your fund is eligible for prizes and incentives, and our team will create a customized giving page for you—making it easy to get started.

Louder Than Cancer Fund Hosts a Concert with a Cause

In honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the community is invited to Louder Than Cancer! — a one-of-a-kind, free concert featuring Rocdoc and the Healers, a rock band made up of medical professionals who believe music can spark meaningful conversations about health.
The event takes place on Viernes, Marzo 27, at The Theater at North in Scranton, with doors opening at 5 PM and the concert beginning at 6 PM.
The evening will also feature educational tables on the importance of colorectal cancer screenings and connections to regional health providers.
Established in Enero 2026 by Dr. Vikas Khurana and Peter Iskander, the Louder Than Cancer Fund supports colon cancer awareness and education by organizing events throughout the community.

Women in Philanthropy Brings Community Together Through Film and Conversation

On Lunes, Marzo 23, Women in Philanthropy (WIP) welcomed community members to a screening of Join or Die, the first event in WIP’s 2026 Community Documentary Series.
The film explores the research and life’s work of social scientist Robert Putnam, highlighting the importance of civic engagement and strong community connections in building a healthy democracy.
The screening sparked thoughtful conversation among attendees and reflected WIP’s ongoing commitment to bringing people together to learn, connect, and engage with issues that impact our communities.

UPCOMING Screening
The second film in the series will take place on Lunes, Abril 13, 2026, in partnership with Jeannine Luby, celebrating five years of her podcast Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl.
Jeannie will moderate a conversation with film director Hilary Klotz Steinman and Sabrina Hannon, Medical Advocacy Program Coordinator at WRC.
The featured film, Loud Enough – Surviving Justice, chronicles a family’s journey as they confront a criminal justice system biased against them and transform into advocates for lasting change. Through emotional victories and difficult setbacks, the film explores the power of love, resilience, and community—and highlights ways our justice system can evolve.
The Women in Philanthropy Initiative Fund, administered by the Scranton Area Community Foundation, supports Women in Philanthropy programs and initiatives that engage community members and create opportunities for learning, connection, and impact.

GCHS Turkey Trot Fund

Established at SACF in Marzo 2026, the GCHS Turkey Trot Fund supports the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine’s annual Turkey Trot.
Proceeds from the race support the Friends of the Poor & Catherine McAuley Center’s Family-to-Family Program.
This partnership continues to provide essential resources like food, housing, and clothing to families in need across our region during the Thanksgiving season and beyond.
