Matt McGloin Foundation Annual Charity Golf Tournament Gives Back to the Community
Thanks to the generosity of golfers, sponsors, and supporters, the Matt McGloin Foundation continues to strengthen our community.
The Matt McGloin Foundation Annual Charity Golf Tournament welcomed 95 golfers and supporters to Glen Oak Country Club on Junio 29 for a day of philanthropy and community. The evening program was emceed by Scranton Area Community Foundation Board Chair Dave Price, and featured special guest Penn State Defensive Coordinator D’Anton Lynn, who played alongside Matt at Penn State from 2008–2011.
Over the years, the Matt McGloin Foundation has invested approximately $150,000 in Northeastern Pennsylvania, supporting scholarships, veterans, food insecurity initiatives, youth programs, and other community needs.
Today, Matt continues his commitment to service as a member of the Penn State Board of Trustees, while the Matt McGloin Foundation continues to create opportunities for those in need throughout our region.
Established in 2016, the Matt McGloin Foundation reflects Matt’s commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for others. The Fund is proudly administered by the Scranton Area Community Foundation.

This annual event celebrates Frank’s life while raising funds to support the local Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping grant life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses.

The Christine Dreger Memorial Fund
The Christine Dreger Memorial Fund was established in Julio 2026 by Christine’s children—Victoria, Andrew, Mikaela, and Nicholas—in loving memory of their mother.
Christine had a deep love for animals and believed every pet deserves to be treated with compassion and dignity.
As longtime supporters of animal welfare through several charitable funds at the Scranton Area Community Foundation, her family recently recognized an unmet need while assisting a pet owner through the Sit and Stay Pet Support Fund. That experience inspired them to create a new way to help families facing the loss of a beloved pet.
Created in partnership with Aspen Meadows Pet Aquamation & Memorial Services, the new Fund provides financial assistance to individuals and families throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania for humane, dignified, and environmentally friendly pet aftercare services.
Through this lasting legacy, Christine’s compassion for animals will continue to bring comfort and support to families when they need it most.

The Scranton Area Community Foundation administers the Harry P. McGrath, Esq. Memorial Fund, established in Mayo 2022 by Harry’s family to support the charitable causes and organizations important to him, including the Greater Scranton YMCA’s Summer Loss Prevention Program.
