Celebrating 30 Years of the Paul and Anne Marie Kelly Fund
The Kelly Fund is one of the earliest funds in the history of the Scranton Area Community Foundation. After managing their own scholarship account in 1992, Paul V. Kelly and his nine grown children established an endowed scholarship fund in March 1993 after meeting with then Scranton Area Foundation’s Director and CEO, Jeanne Bovard. The family named the Donor Advised Fund in memory of Anne Marie Kelly, their beloved wife and mother who lost her life to cancer. The family added Paul’s name to the fund in 2004 after his passing. Originally a scholarship fund for graduating seniors at North Pocono High School to assist them with college costs, the family amended the agreement in 2011 to designate St. Catherine of Siena Parish Youth Ministries and the North Pocono Public Library as equal yearly benefactors of the fund.
The Paul and Anne Marie Kelly Fund is honored to celebrate its 30th anniversary this month. Over the past 30 years, the Kelly Fund has donated over $35,000 to support education, faith-filled community service, and lifelong learning in the North Pocono community. Those three ideals were the pillars of the Kelly children upbringing by their devoted and always fun-loving parents, Paul and Anne Marie. Their legacy lives on through everyone who knew them, the many grateful recipients of the Kelly Fund, and their nine children: Erin, Paul, Sean, Colin, Garrett, Mark, Mauri, Pamela, and Christopher.
