Please help to spread the word about the NEPA Pet Food Pantry! Help us to advertise the NEPA Pet Food Pantry through contacts with billboards, media, etc. Please let us know if you are willing to reach out to specific contacts! Reach out to Nora Kern at Nora@safdn.org.

Invite friends to like and follow the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative Facebook page. Volunteers may be needed for the pantry pick-up. If interested in volunteering, please contact scrantonanimalsupplyhouse@gmail.com.

NEPA Gives made history on Friday, June 5, 2020.

The Scranton Area Community Foundation announced this week that 167 local nonprofit organizations worked together to collectively raise a total of $523,683 in 24 hours for NEPA Gives.

NEPA Gives, which accepted donations online at nepagives.org on Friday, made history as the single largest day of philanthropy in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

NEPA Gives was hosted by the Scranton Area Community Foundation, in partnership with The Luzerne Foundation, Greater Pike Community Foundation, Wayne County Community Foundation, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Nonprofit & Community Assistance Center (NCAC), and other community sponsors to raise awareness about the critical work nonprofit organizations carry out across the region and to help charitable organizations raise much-needed funds, especially during these challenging times.

Over 2,700 donors generously supported NEPA Gives. NEPA Gives was also generously supported by numerous sponsors including DiscoverNEPA, WVIA Public Media, Cumulus Media, Hawk Family Foundation, Schwartz Mack Foundation, Tighe Foundation, Women in Philanthropy, the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative, the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund, and many others.

Adding to the momentum, over 125 prizes and matching incentives were awarded to participating nonprofits for notable achievements, all sponsored by generous businesses, foundations, donors, and others across the region. The NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative was proud to participate in NEPA Gives as a sponsor, sponsoring the ‘Collaborating for the Animals Happy Hour Prize‘ which awarded two prizes of $500 randomly selected from organizations who are active members of the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative and who received donations during NEPA Gives between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Congratulations to In Pursuit of Grace and to the Scranton Animal Shelter Association Inc, who were the recipients of this prize!
