UPDATE ON COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative and the Scranton Area Community Foundation are committed to the safety and well being of our staff, friends, neighbors, and community partners. We have been actively monitoring the public health concerns related to COVID-19 and are taking a proactive approach in an effort to prevent illness and promote a healthy environment.

As a proactive precaution, we have made the decision to move the following NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative committee meetings to virtual conference call meetings.

The Pet Expo/Animal Care Summit Committee Meeting that was originally scheduled for tonight has been changed to a conference call meeting. The new date for this virtual conference call meeting will be Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. To attend this committee meeting, please dial-in via phone on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. by calling: +1 929-279-4924‬. Each committee will work to establish an implementation plan based on information in the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative’s strategic plan. Attached is a draft of the plan.

NEXT COLLABORATIVE MEETING

The next NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Albright Community Library (500 Vine St, Scranton).

At this time, we will keep this meeting on the calendar as an in-person meeting, but we will continue to monitor the public health concerns related to COVID-19 and will keep you informed on any changes or updates.

We hope that you will join us as we learn best practices in creating an interactive marketing strategy and framing messages that resonate with the people we want to reach. Tony Bartocci, Partner at Posture Interactive, will be the guest speaker leading this Marketing Strategy Training. At this meeting, we will discuss how the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative can publicize its objectives using media, digital marketing, and interactive technology. Updates on the Collaborative’s objectives to date and reports from committee progress will also be discussed.

The NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative will work on initiatives aimed at ensuring animals in NEPA achieve a happy and healthy life—free from abuse and neglect.

 

The NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative is a project of The Scranton Area Community Foundation. Established in 2019, the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative is a collective of animal shelters, rescues, advocates, and sanctuaries in the region that are interested in coming together to advance various causes in animal welfare and to increase the collective resources available to these agencies. Activities of the collaborative include education, professional development, fundraising and other practices that move the goals of the collaborative forward. The Scranton Area Community Foundation serves as the convener of the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative.
