The meeting was part of the Senator’s efforts to learn more about the recent accomplishments and efforts of NEPA Moves.

NEPA Moves formed in 2017 to improve the quality of life for all people of Northeastern Pennsylvania through improved access to transportation. Spearheaded by the Scranton Area Community Foundation in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and comprised of over 100 community leaders, NEPA Moves is working diligently to gain a better understanding of the specific barriers of current transit systems and is focused on providing solutions to the transportation challenges through a strategic plan that promotes equity, encourages economic growth, and fosters greater opportunity for all people and communities across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Senator praised the work of NEPA Moves and thanked the Scranton Area Community Foundation for its charitable work and its dedication to improving the quality of life for all people across the region.

“We are committed to convening the community around issues that matter to them, and which impact our friends and neighbors, such as issues of equitable transportation,” stated Laura Ducceschi, President and CEO of the Scranton Area Community Foundation. “We are grateful to Senator Casey for his concerns on this issue and for meeting with us to discuss the topic and for his thoughtful leadership for Pennsylvania,” she added.
