Please join us this Tuesday for the first NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative Meeting!

As part of our role as a community foundation, The Scranton Area Community Foundation is committed to gaining a comprehensive picture of the challenges, barriers, and opportunities related to the welfare of animals across the Northeastern Pennsylvania region (NEPA).

In June 2019, we held our first Regional Animal Welfare Roundtable Discussion, where animal advocates gathered to shed light on important issues regarding animal welfare across the region. There are many philanthropic donors and many organizations interested in and working on issues that impact animals in the Northeastern PA region, as well as the people who care for them.

From that discussion, the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative was formed, with the goal of continuing the conversation and working on priority areas to improve animal welfare across the region. In response to overwhelming interest from the first roundtable for continued convening, the Scranton Area Community Foundation invites you to participate in the first NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative Meeting:

Tuesday, October 22, 2019
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Albright Memorial Building at the Scranton Public Library
(500 Vine Street, Scranton)

Refreshments will be served.

The NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative will focus on working on priorities identified by participants including formalizing strategies and implementing solutions for community and regional impact. We are welcoming all organizations and individuals that are working on issues regarding animal welfare in NEPA to join the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative. This can include:

We welcome organizations and individuals from multiple counties across the NEPA region including but not limited to Lackawanna, Luzerne, Susquehanna, Bradford, Sullivan, Wayne, and Wyoming.

We encourage other grantmakers and philanthropists who are interested in collaborating and learning more about how to make an impact on these issues to join us for this regional meeting.
