Our board members are appointed because of their knowledge and understanding of community issues and opportunities. We are always proud to recognize our Board for their achievements in the community. This week, we would like to share a few recent happenings from some of our board members:
Scranton Area Community Foundation Board Chair, Rosemary Broderick, along with her husband, Don, will be honored during the Lackawanna Pro Bono 11th Annual Fundraising Gala in Scranton this evening, Friday, October 18, 2019. At the event, they will be presented with the Attorney Robert W. Munley Distinguished Service Award for their dedicated service to the community.
Board member, Katie Gilmartin, along with her family, will be presented with a 2019 Mighty Oak Award during the Mighty Oak Masquerade on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, where she and her family will be recognized by Outreach – Center for Community Resources for their work in the community supporting Outreach’s mission to help move children and families forward toward stability and economic self-sufficiency.
Our Board Vice-Chair, Ken Okrepkie, will be serving as the keynote speaker at the 2019 Entrepreneurship Institute Conference on Friday, November 8, 2019, organized by tecBRIDGE and taking place at Lackawanna College. He will be presenting programs in our region that are being leveraged to build startup companies and raise capital.
Our Board proudly serves as stewards of donor funds and foundation resources and works to ensure the highest levels of executive and management performance, responsible grantmaking, quality donor relations, accountable stewardship of philanthropic funds, and overall financial health of our organization.
